Harbor Point

The waterfront area of southern Stamford is the location of the largest private redevelopment efforts ever undertaken in Connecticut and Milone & MacBroom, Inc. is proud to be at the heart of it. Through our Stamford, Connecticut office, we are providing engineering services for this 80-acre brownfield redevelopment project, including the layout of buildings and supporting urban infrastructure. This has included the design of roadways, parking areas and utilities. Once complete, the project will include 6 million square feet of development including 4,000 residential units.

The scope of this project requires extensive coordination and communication among utility companies, City staff, the developer and other members of the design team. The ongoing success of this project, even in the economic downturn is a testament to the communication abilities of all involved, including the engineers at Milone & MacBroom, Inc.

This “Smart Growth” Project, one of the largest in the United States, is being hailed as a model for job growth, environmental sensitivity, and traffic reduction. The project is expected to take 10 years to complete. To date an estimated $30M has been spent on infrastructure, construction of a 60,000 square foot grocery store is currently underway as is construction of three high rise towers. Two parks designed by Milone & MacBroom, Inc. are substantially complete.
