"My original goals regarding natural treatment of waters lead me to a job at Milone & MacBroom that has included multiple projects addressing water quality from the perspective of restoring river processes. River and floodplain evaluation and restoration projects have taken many different forms including dam removal, culvert/ stream crossing prioritization based on geomorphic and aquatic organism passage criteria, stream assessment, modeling and alternatives analysis for unstable stream locations, and more traditional flood control... It has been a pleasure to work with other engineers who understand natural stream processes and consider possible flood and erosion hazard risks as well as restoration of aquatic habitat." |
